Subbing, Christmas, and Birthdays, Oh my!

I just thought it was about time for an update here as well. I may try something. Not crossposting. I really just don't think it's necessary. We'll see.

So many things are going on in my head lately. I've started subbing for the year. Well, you know that from my last entry. After that day, I subbed Monday and Tuesday at the middle school and had 2 AWESOME days. So really, i guess it just depends on the kids in the classes, not just the age range. I was happy.

Tuesday, of course, I woke up with a nasty cold that has me home today. So, once again, thank God that I had wonderful students, if not, I would never have made it through the day.

I'm feeling pretty good about Christmas this year. Since Dave received his bonus we aren't going to be drowning in bills, so hopefully we can put together a nice soiree for us this year. I have already begun my shopping. Picking up things here and there for the kiddos. I'm hoping this will help alleviate the last minute money-spending and shopping trips.

We are going to put money away specifically for Black Friday shopping and I am super excited. Although it is less than enjoyable to go and freeze to get into a store in the wee morning hours it is super enjoyable when you fill your cart to the brim with things that are on sale for only a fraction of the cost. Before kids, I wouldn't have been caught dead out there... after kids, I wouldn't be caught at home. The deals are just too good. So maybe this year by the week after thanksgiving or so, our shopping will be done.

This year I also want to plan a girly party for my kids. I think it would be so fun for them to have a girls' pajama party with crafts, hot cocoa, and a Christmas movie or two. I definitely want to do that, but keep it small, probably just my 2 and 2 to 4 other children. That should be fun!

As you can tell, I LOVE Christmas! every part! I can't wait for it to get here.

In other news..

My girls birthdays are fast approaching. My little Maya is going to be 4 years old!!! On Oct. 4th.. next Thursday. *cries* I can't believe how fast the time goes. And Paige, well my little one will be 3 years old already on November 18th.. sheesh!

Super Sub

Yeah, That's me. *gags*

I cannot tell you how annoying it is to substitute teach at the middle school level. Actually, I can. I will.

Those of you with children may actually be able to relate to this. It's like 30 children who you cannot just take out of the store, throwing a minor temper tantrum in the middle of a supermarket. Yes.. I know.. you all are pining for my job. not.

You should note that these comments are coming from a gal that loves to teach middle school. I sincerely enjoy every second of being the classroom teacher in a middle school, not the substitute teacher. For substitute teaching, I definitely recommend the high school kids. It is super easy. In fact I usually get the better part of a novel read during my high school days.

Ok.. enough of that... let's now move on to the fact that while I adore OD it is driving me insane lately!!! I can barely get on, and when I do, I can hardly navigate from one screen to the next without either having to wait for 5 minutes, or it shutting down completely. This I tell you is what my $2 is paying for.. Disgraceful! But mostly I just miss my pals there. I hope they have it running better soon.

Also, I have absolutely NO idea what I am doing on this site... will someone please tell me how to add friends and things to this.. right now, I' m lucky I've figured out how to write here..

Since OD has been acting up, I decided to take a leap and write here for a few days. At least I have a place to post and maybe even a place to reconnect with my ODers if ever the site goes down forever.. so here I am.
